Q. What does MemBoost do?
A. MemBoost FREES all or just parts of your RAM by just the click of a button. It uses the swap file of your computer to transfer unused or not needed data from your computer's RAM to the swap file.

Q. Why do I need MemBoost ?
A. Many programs run on your system, and the course of their running, they allocate chunks of memory for their own use. Also, quite a few programs use libraries, also known as '.dll' files. Now, when the program terminates, it is supposed to free up all the memory that it allocated. Unfortunately, that's not the case. Due to certain faults in the program, and bad memory management by Windows, some part of the allocated memory is not freed up. Windows by itself cannot free memory allocated by some other program, when the program terminates. Thus, lesser amount of memory is available to other programs, and Windows to work with. Here's where MemBoost steps in. MemBoost discards the unneeded chunks of memory that other programs forgot to free, or could not free. Also, if the user requested more memory to be freed, and there is useful data in the RAM, it transfers the data to the Swap file.

Q. What settings should I keep for my Swap file ?
A. It is best to let Windows dynamically manage your Swap file for you. However, if you prefer to set the values for your swap file, be sure to keep the maximum above 3 times the Physical Memory installed on your computer. i.e. the RAM.

Q. Will it adversley affect my computer if I keep on Optimizing the RAM (i.e. continuously clicking Optimize) ?
A. No. It will only take up more CPU time, and you will have to wait for some time. That's all.

Q. What settings should I keep for the Alarm level, and RAM to Free at Alarm Level ?
A. This is given in MemBoost's help file.
